I don’t wear lipstick every day, so it tends to last forever. Which is why when I went to buy some, I discovered the mid-range line that has been my favorite for decades changed their formula a couple of years ago, and now has terrible reviews because they changed everything people loved about it.
The recommendations for close substitutes are all super high end and I refuse to pay that much for lipstick.
So does anybody know of a good, sheer, buildable color, long lasting, moisturizing lipstick that won’t bleed or feather and also won’t break the bank?
You all know some amazing things.
KellyBody shop lipsticks are great.
KarenGo to Ulta or Sephora if you have one in your area. They carry all kinds of lines. Tell them what you are looking for and they can help you.
HeatherThis happens every time I find a product I LOVE! But I go on eBay and snag up a few to last a year or longer… I keep doing it & have never had a problem with “expired” makeup (for those who might comment about it lol)
KatieWet n Wild makes AMAZING lipstick. One of their colors, Secret Muse, is so freaking fantastic on me, it’s the only lipstick I ever wear anymore. And it’s like $1.69. (It is way better than the MAC lipstick I bought for my wedding.)
DeannaNYX and Milani have some fabulous formulas. It sounds like you are looking for something like Clinique’s Almost Lipstick. It’s worth every penny.
WendyThis is sold at Wal-Mart. This particular shade is 002.
KateVaseline Lip Therapy – tinted. I got it on Amazon and I’m loving it. If I want more color, I can use one of my old lipsticks and put this on top. If I want a sheer look, I wear it alone. It keeps my lips moisturized for hours. The cost is decent.
DiennaThey’re not sheer, but I really like the revlon lipsticks. I get the creme variety, not the pearl (listed on the bottom). They’re about $6 at Walmart.
KateIf you don’t wear it every day and it seems to last forever…splurge on a good one.
