I currently live in a house that has a garage conversion. Now making it a 3bd/1ba.
I have plans for renting this house out in 5 or so years and buying another house in a lower cost of living area once my son is a little older and interest rates are slightly lower. However; I need a damn garage!
Will converting it back to a 2/1 with a garage make it rent for less than a 3/1 with no garage?
Current rent for a house this size in my area averages about 1850/mo
AndreaBedrooms over a garage. There is more value in living space than storage space.
GalaIt’s a smaller house with less bedrooms.
If I have 3 kids and want to rent your 3 bedroom house now I have to find another house or give away one kid?
Clearly I’m going to find another 3 bd house.
If I’m looking at houses and I see 2 bed in area of mostly 3 beds I won’t pay you 3 bed price for 2 bedroom house.
I’ll look to pay $300-$400 less a month at least.
Also, You can see: I need to sell my house asap
FortIt’s really going to depend on the market demand. Ask a local agent they can tell you.
