Every year my kids and I do homemade gifts for family and their teachers etc. This year I am really stumped. I would love ideas.

So far some of the things we have done are: homemade candles in thrifted tea cups, sugar scrubs, lip balm, etched Pyrex, homemade vanilla extract and ornaments. We do ship some so that is a consideration.

Any unique but relatively easy ideas?

Every year my children’s teachers were excited to have my childrenin class (and told us so) because they would get our plate of homemade cookies.

We didn’t have to come up with new ideas every year.

I made a recipe book for a teacher from my daughter and the students. I had each kid give me one of their mom’s favorite recipes!

I put it in a notebook. The teacher loved it.

Do you sew? If you do, make some reuseable grocery bags. Everyone can use them & many states have banned using plastic bags.

I make them & everyone has liked getting them.

I use a Duck or canvas type fabric.

Why not give school supplies so the teacher doesn’t have to buy so many?

A roll of Christmas wrapping paper with some scissors and tape attached with a ribbon. They will appreciate it very much!

Can’t go wrong with plates of baked goodies or a loaf of yummy bread. I still eagerly await my nieces zucchini bread in the mail!

A friend of mine makes candied nuts every year. Boy are they delicious! It’s not a large amount but enjoyed every year.

                        What a treat!

Dollar store wooden spoons hand painted by children, placed in a gift bag with fresh produce for a salad!

                          huge hit with the teachers!

How about decorative pillar candles? Cut out some pretty designs from Christmas napkins with white background.

Wrap the images on the candle, hold in place with wax paper, and use a blow dryer to adhere the image onto the candle!

Christmas ornaments made from salt, water, and flour dough, cut with a Christmas cookie cutter shape.

Be sure to pierce a hole in them before they dry and slip a little piece of ribbon or jute to hang it by.

Season your dough with cinnamon and or cloves. I usually did one ornament per person.

We made little cardboard gift boxes for them from index cards for the bottom and old Christmas cards for the top.

They may need up to six weeks to dry, so I would start now if you choose to do these

You can have your child sign his name on the back and the year

If you’re in a colder state and they have a real fire place or fire pit: fire starters. Rubber stamped personal thank you notecards.

I’ll tell you what, the best gift I had ever gotten as a teacher was a hug from a student who did not communicate!

I cried all day! His mom couldn’t even speak because she had never seen her son do it on his own.

That sweet memory will be in my heart forever.

His mom had actually caught a picture of us walking hand in hand while on a field trip and she matted and framed that picture.

I still cherish it. Maybe you can find old candid pictures of y’all together and frame them! I love things like this!
