My why! I work in home care. These last two years I’ve experienced more people in their late 70s 80s and even 90s tell me that they can’t afford their own healthcare.
I can count on more than two hands now over the last two years how many people are working into their 70s and 80s. it is absolutely insane.
We live in the richest nation in the world and our elderly Can’t get the care that they need.
Jule1. We are no longer the wealthiest nation in the world. There are at least five other countries ahead of us now. But we are the most POWERFUL country in the world.
2. We live in a country of over consumption and terrible savers
3. Healthcare has become a major business where money is the primary motivation over the well being of our citizensBillThe us spends more on healthcare for the elderly than any other nation. We just do a horrible job at it. We’ll spend 100k on hospitalizing someone after a fall but $0 keeping them strong and mobile enough to avoid that issue.
