So we give small gifts to many people but I am terrible at thinking of gifts. What are some ideas for gifts for adults under $50?
I’m looking for creative and meaningful gift ideas for adults that won’t break the bank. The recipient could be anyone—friends, family, or colleagues—and I want to give something personal, practical, or unique.
It could be for birthdays, holidays, or any special occasion. I’m particularly interested in gifts that are under $50 but still feel high-quality or thoughtful.
Whether it’s an experience, a gadget, something DIY, or a stylish item, I’d love to hear suggestions.
Please share your best ideas or any experiences you’ve had with giving or receiving great gifts in this price range.
Thanks in advance for your recommendations!
BarbaraI like to give my adult kids a giftcard for a restaurant and an offer to babysit while they go out
BobbiI bought two Penzeys $50 gift cards for $35 each! So excited and can’t wait to gift them. They do that offer fairly often.
Their spices are and the jars come packed to the brim!
LisaFind a “gifts in a jar” book. Lots of great ideas. When I worked in a big office, I made jars of soup ingredients and tied the recipe to the outside with Christmas ribbon.
You can do the same with cocoa mix and other things.
Tinamy gifts I like as an adult is from the heart. I got a bag full of kitchen spices and a gluten free cake box from my cousin it was simple but I enjoyed a practical gift
DebbieDepends on age of person. Are they downsizing? If they are Knick nak are not welcomed
Restaurant gift cards are nice
RachelI bought my nephew and his wife Stanley cups with their “married” initials engraved for one of their wedding gifts and they went crazy over them!
JeannieI did baskets one year and that was fun. You can do things like Spa day, Coffee break, a new sewer, crocheted, or knitter.
KellySilver Eagle coin from a local coin shop, lottery tickets, candles, fuzzy blanket, anything personalized like necklace, initial bracelet
LoriI love getting practical/consumable gifts. I would personally give a deluxe pasta, a really good jar of sauce & a tea towel.
Scarlet-Microwave popcorn packet, box of theater candy or two, inside a popcorn tub from the Dollar Tree.
Ice cream scoop, a couple toppings, and a gift card for a grocery store to get their ice cream of choice.
Maybe add bowls if budget allows.
Cake or cookie mix tucked in an oven mitt with a wisk.
PennyIf you are into gift cards I love gift cards to thrift stores. I first received one from a coworker who loves to thrift as much as I do.
I like to do board games or games or books.
Just think what they like to do.
I once received a gift to ride on a large bus that used for traveling to sip and thrift tour
ClaryHomemade lotions and soaps in a gift basket with a nice wash cloth and soap dish.
Angela50 seems like a bit much. You are generous…that is a good trait, but keep in mind your budget.
LenoraI love a theme gift basket! With reservations…
I’ve done a coffee one before. But I make sure the person likes coffee. This seems obvious but a lot of times people don’t take these important things into account. They’ll give a gift card to a store you never shop at.
Then I get beans, mugs, biscotti, chocolates, tea towel. The key is to make it visually appealing.
All the items packaged in the same colors. I’ve done all blue items for instance. And then wrap it all up in cellophane.
I find beautiful gourmet items at Marshalls and HomeGoods food sections.
Or a home baked goods basket if you love to bake. But again, make it pretty!
No sad crumbling chocolate chip cookies.
SarahAsk what they might need or find out what their favorite snacks are and stock them up
HarmonyOnly give vouchers or giftcards for places you know they’ll like. Otherwise books and could or records normally make good presents if you know what they like to read or listen to
CourtenayMy mother asked for new baking glassware. Got a great deal.
Coffee makers/coffee
Fave snacks.Fave sports teams
Something related to a hobbyBethConsumables are always nice, gourmet coffee or teas, spices, sauces, etc, bath items..
