In my previous role at a major utility company’s coal-fired power plant, I worked as an operator, supervisor, and planner/scheduler and made a nice six figure salary.
Despite lacking the experience as a planner/scheduler, I excelled in data analytics for a year, driving efficiency improvements and saving the company millions of dollars.
I am passionate about understanding processes and continuous growth. Following organizational changes, my position was eliminated last February.
I received a severance package and now would like to transition into data analytics. Holding a Business Management degree (Cumma Sum Laude) and pursuing an MBA, I seek guidance from experienced individuals on Data Analytics Boot Camps.
I see others saying they hire individuals with Data Analytics Boot Camps on their CV. Can you recommend top programs and advise if this path suits me?
I appreciate your guidance, as I miss my last role and the accomplishments I was able to achieve within such a short time. I know I had so much more to give.
KristinWith your background you would be very marketable in the physical asset management field– there are positions in power, water/wastewater, transportation, and other asset-intensive industries.
We are always looking for Business Analysts who have operations/maintenance experience.
I don’t even think you necessarily need an additional degree or bootcamp to be successful.
Check out the Institute of Asset Management for lots of resources and a job board.
SonjaWhen I interviewed for a similar role, I was asked to provide report samples to show my skills on how I interpret the data and explain actionable insights.
Which is confidential information – so be prepared to create a mock up.
