Going to Evergreen, Colorado for a few days in early November.

What are the must do’s? Would like to hike some and go for a beautiful drive into the mountains. Any suggestions?

“What are some of the must-do hikes and scenic drives in or near Evergreen, Colorado?

I’m planning a trip and would love recommendations for beautiful trails with a range of difficulty levels (easy to challenging), as well as scenic roads that offer stunning mountain or forest views.

I’m particularly interested in places that showcase the natural beauty of the area, whether that’s hiking through alpine meadows, forested paths, or along lakes.

Also, any tips for good spots to stop, picnic, or take photos along the way would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions!”

I’m a fan of eating pizza in Idaho Springs! Super good and unique with honey to dip the huge crusts in.

But I’d definitely make a loop out to Breckenridge and back at least. Maybe check out Silverthorne.

Maxwell falls is a great hike in Evergreen. The Evergreen lake may have Elk hanging out near it this time of year, it’s also an enjoyable casual walk as well.

The downtown has a cute coffee shop and other dining options.

Georgetown is an adorable little town where you can ride the Georgetown Loop Train.

Don’t miss the food and sourdough bread at Evergreen Bread Lounge.

If you have good weather and wanted to do a really big loop drive you could either drive down I 72 the exit for copper ski mountain I forgot what exit that is and then drive-through Leadville down into Buena Vista and back up to 85 towards Denver.

It is a full day and tiring drive, but definitely beautiful. Alternatively, you could drive up through Winter Park, which goes over birthday pass, and then into Rocky Mountain national Park from the W. Side Dr.

all the way through the park come out the east side into Estes Park and then drive down through Boulder to get back to Evergreen.

Another full day but a nice way to see Rocky about national Park and hopefully capture some Animals as well as the beautiful views You will be there in October which I think you will.

You will still need to get entry pass into Rocky Mountain national Park, which cost two dollars and you can check at 7 PM the night before you plan to go to try to get a pass.

I recommend setting an alarm on your phone for exactly like 6:59 PM mountain time so you can get it right away to get the time that you want.

Not sure if it’ll all be open but drive up to Echo Lake on the way to Mount Blue Sky (outside of Idaho Springs) from I-70.

Check out Chicago Lakes #52 Trail off of Echo Lake, a favorite.

Also, lots of good hikes in Evergreen for year-round hiking.
