I bought two cantaloupe, they are both bland. What can I do with them, besides throw them in the garbage?
“I recently bought two cantaloupes, but they turned out to be bland.
I’m looking for creative ideas on how to use them instead of just throwing them away.
Any suggestions?”
BeaYou can take them back to the grocery store with a receipt
BernadetteUse a fork & scrape the cantaloupe to strips. Throw away the peel. Place all in a pitcher.
Add cold water & sugar.
You have a refreshing Cantaloupe juice or remove skin of cantaloupe.
Cut it indo cubes & blend with water, sugar, & ice cubes.
You got a smoothie.
LindaFreeze in chunks; use in smoothies with more flavourful fruit.
JaneThis is what I do and nobody else here will do it but me… LOL I cut them up in a bowl, sprinkle with Splenda or sugar and freeze them.
The next day as they thaw out they become much softer, very juicy and of course sweet.
That’s how I eat them when they are not ripe and it’s too late because they’ve already been cut.
I love it that way but that’s just me
DesireeI dice them, sprinkle with a little stevia and serve with cottage cheese.
JackieNext time, smell the non-stem end. If you do t smell cantaloupe they are not ripe.
LisbethAgua fresca. Blend with sugar, cucumber, lime and water until smooth. Strain and serve over ice.
Add chia seeds and more water if needed
CarrollI hate that. I bought honey crisp apples that were NOT sweet AT ALL! I thought maybe I had Covid FFS
KelliMix them with a lil stevia and vanilla yogurt… Freeze in ice cube trays and have bites! …
You can do this with all fruit
StephanieMake cantaloupe sorbet, a fruit salad (add sugar free jello and it will taste sweet or instant pudding ), freeze it for a filler in a protein shake or smoothie
EileenUsed to love cantaloupe. Threw mine away 6 years ago and never bought another one.
hey’re not the same
AlmaYou can blend it and add water, ice and sugar to a pitcher. It’s call agua de melon.
It is refreshing and tasty.
CatherineI started using Salt and Pepper like my Dad did when I was a kid. This was fifty years ago.
Today I used my Trader Joe’s chili lime and wow!!
