Ellenabsolutely nothing as my garbage disposal broke, then my dishwasher broke, then I had a screw in my tire, followed by my clothing rack collapsing, then we found out our heating system broke, my keyboard broke, my mop broke and then my son’s pool burst.. so needless to say we drained our entire savings account..
SarahI went pantry shopping to food prep for today and weekend. I also helped a neighbor tidy up her huge garden and in return she let me harvest produce that my family can use and 3 fresh duck eggs and 1 dozen fresh chicken eggs from her little farm.
I asked neighbors that have abundance of avocados, papaya, citrus, lemons and mangoes.
This means that I saved grocery shopping for 2 weeks. I’m so grateful.
ClaudetteI am trying to eat healthier; but, of course, the healthier food is so much more expensive. At least where I live.
So, I arrived at the supermarket early and was able to get salmon for a steal because it was going to expire the next day.
Vacuumed sealed and ready to cook.
ChristineMade a big batch of this on sunday. I’ve been eating leftovers all week. One day I added a poached egg on top, one day I added brown beef,
StacyAfter my oven decided to cook its last meal, with the control board going……I purchased a used one instead of a crappy new one.
EdwardAte extremely cheap, even on my 49th birthday I stayed home and ate a bowl of homemade mixed bean and canned salmon soup as my fancy birthday dinner.
AprilWalked everywhere that I needed to go within a two mile radius (as opposed to riding), set my a/c to “energy saver” mode and checked filters, borrowed a stack of books from my library (and one on hoopla), hand washed small clothing articles (to save on laundromat cost).
DianeI 100% ignored Prime day for Amazon. The only thing I needed is a spoon rest for my stovetop and I’ll just continue to use a small plate until I find one at Goodwill.
KaseyI got Vera Bradley backpack at 70 percent. I needed a new one for work. My old backpack was falling part.
NancyTook my lunch to work every day this week.. getting ready for winter, I bought 30 lbs of beautiful boneless, skinless chicken breast at $1.99/lb and vac sealed in portions, picking out 1/2 bushel of crabs now that my husband caught to make &
freeze crabcakes and tomorrow I’ll gather cucumbers from the garden to make bread&butter pickles.
RamGave someone driving lesson, and they made me a great dinner for two.
Something difficult to make and it tastes so gooooodCindyDid not buy from prime days, didn’t order groceries, made dog food from scratch.
MollyMy neighbor had a cherry tree cut down and she brought us some branches! Currently eating and dehydrating lots of cherries.
MeiTough one. Had some home repair issues and really wanted Chinese takeout. Opted for frozen pizza instead.
Not sure if that is a lot of savings but in my mind it is.
Chinese takeout would normally coat me around $25 to $30 that feeds me 4 or 5 meals.
Pizza I got today was on sale for $3.99 (made good use of a digital coupon for $1.00 off.)
PamelaRight now I am sitting at a table at a rummage sale! Trying to sell stuff we don’t need, want or use.
The table cost $30 & I’ve sold $73 worth so far…3 hours in. Hope sales get better.
RissaSold a house…. Which in the end will save us $2000 a month.. I know by tax time we may be in a different boat with capital gains but I’m just glad to free up that money every month.
KathieDidn’t turn on the AC. I carried a big fan from room to room instead.
Been doing it all summer. My electric bill last month was $23.70
TrixieI’ve been posting bunches of unneeded items on marketplace, been eating out of my pantry and freezer, and only buying what I absolutely need.
So… Basically what I do every week.
MelissaI sold our old truck and I shopped my pantry. All I had to buy to make tator tot casserole was an inexpensive can of green beans!
MicheleA brand medication of mine was going to be $300 out of pocket for a 90 day supply with insurance & coupon.
I switched to a 30 day supply with same coupon. Now I pay $5 for a 30 day supply. Never pay more than needed. No generic available
