What homemade/handmade gifts is everybody making this year? I have couple ideas
Handmade gifts always carry a special touch of thoughtfulness and creativity. Whether it’s something simple yet meaningful or an intricate piece that showcases your skills, each creation tells a story.
Are you knitting, painting, baking, or crafting something unique for your loved ones this year?
Share your ideas and inspire others!
DarlaCozie bowl holders and Terry cloth napkins
PattiI have loads of used like new books I’m done with so I put together ‘Blind Date with a Book’ gifts. Wrapped and ribboned, the library card gives a bit of info on genre and story but the book is a surprise.
I added a bookmark. You could always add a tea, hot chocolate or coffee packet, a highlighter, etc if you wanted to go fancier.
StaceyI’m not making them this year but made rice heating pads. (Someone used field corn cause they were farmers!) Simple to sew three sides, fill then sew the last side.
I do NOT put scents in them because I am allergic to lavender.
Just a minute in microwave and it helps the sore earache or etc.
Nolaa year or two I made coasters with my sewing machine, two sides of something pretty with a little quilt cotton in the middle, they were cheap and easy to sew and everybody seemed to like them.
best part was I could use different fabric to try and match people’s interests/tastes… my older brother got some with video game controller fabric
PaulHomemade cookie mix in a jar.
Can make other mixes too. Endless ideas.MarandaI always bring some homemade treats (cookies, etc), to share. This year I’m also adding in some peppermint bath salts, apple butter, four berry jelly I canned.
RebeccaI made pot holders (crocheted) one year. I made them 3 layers, with 2 layers joined on 4 sides and 1 layer only joined on 3 sides, making a mitt.
I also made them bigger than commercial pot holders – which the guys who cook Really liked.
VickiI buy pretty plates or dishes from the thrift store and fill with cookies and give as a gift. Crochet ear warmers and scarves, rice heat bags, Japanese knot bags…small zipper pouches
TiffanyDiamond painting gifts — journals, bookmarks and compact mirrors. I’ll do some baking too.
