      Any ideas for me?
I am going to get an online bachelor’s degree to change my career path.

(No cost out of my pocket). I’m 35 and make $70k at my current job, no bachelor’s degree (some college).

      I feel pigeon-holed. I don’t believe I can progress past $80k after 5 years.

What major should I study? I love reports/spreadsheets and Excel.

I also enjoy writing and I’m introverted.

I’m considering finance, data science, and accounting.

I’m just okay at math, not super good. Im also open to other different suggestions!

My ideal job would meet these criteria:

      -fully remote

      -80k-100k within 3-5 years

      -40 hrs/wk

      -few sales/customer-facing duties

-potential to start a side hustle with the skills learned

      Thanks for any help

If you are willing to change some of your criteria, you could look into being an intelligence analyst at one of the three letter agencies (Ideally a smaller one for better pay).

I am one, I look at spreadsheets, various reports, Excel, plus some other stuff with the goal of combining my very niche information into a written report for others to read.

I make $155k + benefits and pension with some telework availability.

Not much face to face, though you could give briefs if you want to.

My specific job is actually low stress and there are a lot of interesting rabbit holes to go down.

Some intelligence analysts focus on threat financing (think money laundering, drug financing, terrorist funding, etc).

Project Management – easily meets your criteria. However may be harder for someone who is a natural introvert.

Regardless about what you choose, be ready to compromise about the remote work requirement.

Remote work is so desirable it attracts a lot of applicants–

            competition is stiff.

More and more employers want employees back in the office either full time or at least a few days a week.

Before you start a program, I would find some people who have a job in the field you’re aiming for and ask them about the kinds of projects they do.

Data science may be a good fit. They can make significantly more than what you’re aiming for.
