Hi, I have been a SAHM from last 8 years. I Have 377,000 saved up. I am 42 years old.

I need to go back to work and looking for a stable career for next 20 years.

I am okay to get certifications or go to community college for an associates but not sure where to start.

What are some of the fields where you can have a stable career and possibly have a career path in that career to grow in salary.

Oldest will go to college in 2 years and youngest still has 7 years.

Seeking your advise, thanks for your time.

Court reporters are in high demand in so cal. There are two year certification courses you can take. I always thought it would be an interesting career.

        The pay is good.

Following for ideas. Had to go back to work bc my husband has been unable to find another job for nearly 2 years and full time at a fast food place or grocery store isn’t enough for us

General areas of interest? Just getting an associates/certifications vs higher degree may limit your options.

My husband has his associates in physical therapy and has been a physical therapy assistant for 17 years in various settings.

We have looked into options such as sonography or radiology tech that is less patient care intensive (he is excellent at patient care but has low level burn out from years of full time patient care with high productivity demands, which is true in most healthcare settings).

I have heard that Enrolled Agents are in high demand if you like systems, details and tax prep.

RN, best career ever in my opinion. You can have your associates degree (RN) in 2 years after you do prerequisites. I graduated at 41, loved my job!

Teaching, nursing, accounting, financial advising are the first that come to mind for me
