I’m considering investing in a growth index fund with Vanguard, but with so many options, I’d love to hear some insights from experienced investors.

Right now, I’m particularly interested in a fund with strong growth potential and solid long-term returns.

Could anyone share recommendations on which Vanguard growth index funds are performing well?

I’m looking for insights on funds that may balance potential growth with reasonable risk, especially in today’s market environment.

Any details on specific fund performance, risk factors, or overall strategy would be much appreciated!

      Thank you.

“Right now” is irrelevant to any meaningful investing decision, as that could change tomorrow, next week or next month.

Are you going to be changing funds whenever “best right now” changes?

VUG is their flagship indexed growth fund.

There are literally dozens of funds.

Don’t recommend them unless it’s in a taxable brokerage account. If I wanted to invest in a large cap growth fund as part of a broad comprehensive portfolio strategy, then it would be the Vanguard Growth Index. Be forewarned that U.S.

Large Cap stocks have had the best long term numbers from 2010-2023. I can’t expect this trend to continue!!

In my Roth IRA, I own shares of Vanguard PRIMECAP. This fund is not my core holding and my allocation to this fund is small.

I would recommend avoiding small cap growth index funds and mid cap growth index funds.

Moreover, if own shares of VTI/VTSAX or VOO/VFIAX, there is no need for a growth index funds/ETF in addition to either of these funds/ETFs.

Both broad/total stock market index funds/ETFs and S&P 500 index funds/ETFs tilt towards large cap growth stocks.

VIGAX is what I used in my 401K for a fund. Low ER, like 0.03% or something. I think it’s comparable to VUG ETF

Honestly I just picked about 8 tech stocks and made my own etf using fractional shares
