Every list seams to have a different take on the best company. Most credit union have requirements to join. mostly from there state. the highest one I’ve seen is Mango. Does anyone know a better company?
I’ve never heard if this bank.
BillThere is no such thing as “best”. They literally change rates every day. Just pick one that has terms you can live with and a good rate.
FrankWhy don’t you just use a money market fund at your broker?
VirgeMy core position with SPAXX in Fidelity earns 4.99% now. I can pull out anytime I need it. Easy peasy.
MatthewAmEx HYSA works for me for the emergency fund. 4.30% APY.
Main banking is the Fidelity Cash Management Account, so even my spending money is earning money market rates.
Don’t miss: What high yield savings account do y’all recommend?
JefferyI use Ally.
I like their “bucket” feature to earmark savings for certain goals. I think it’s at 4.4% currently, but changes often.
Like others have said, pick a reputable bank that has features you like.
BarryIf you have a Vanguard, Fidelity, etc. brokerage account, your money market settlement fund pays nearly 5.3% – easy-peasy and your money is always ready to invest.
PaulI would assume the responses you’re about to receive will be similar to the searches you’ve made. All over the place. Everyone has different wants from their accounts, and the yield on each account may change in the future.
Choose a credible financial source you trust and read their opinions, because that’s all they are, and make your decision from there. Oh, and I use Ally.

TonyThe ‘best’ changes day to day, based on every bank’s current offerings. I start with the Doctor of Credit list, and I weed out local and regional banks and focus on larger and mostly online banks with better online platforms and customer interfaces. Some local bank websites look like there were designed by high schoolers, and I’m sure there customer service experience isn’t much better if problems arise.
I was using Wealthfront for my HYSA, but since the start of 2023 or so I’ve just been laddering CDs as those rates are better (+/- 5.6%) for anywhere between a month to a year.
JeniferI’ve been with Vio Bank for 3 years. Rate is 5.25% no referrals or direct deposit needed.
ErnestCash/core position in Fidelity is at 4.98% right now.
No hoops to jump thru – no minimum/maximum, no direct deposit, no referral code, no “you need to use the debit card 20 times a month”, no monthly “fee”, etc.
