I want to house hack my 2 spare guest rooms. What are the best platforms you have used to find quality tenants?
I’m looking for suggestions on the best websites or apps to advertise spare rooms and connect with trustworthy tenants.
Whether it’s for short-term or long-term rentals, I’d love to hear about platforms you’ve had success with.
Any tips for attracting the right kind of tenant are also welcome!
SidI always converse with them a bit first. If you place an ad, ask them to tell you a bit about themselves. Most people will not do that.
They will just say they are interested or ask you for more details.
You can tell a lot about people if they are able to follow instructions, complete a coherent thought or how they write.
After that, check their social media also make sure what they are telling you adds up
DerrekDepends. Is it long term? If so zillow, and signs
Midterm-furnish finders
Short-airnnbDavidYou just gotta screen them, ask for references and call them.
Do homework make sure they’re real.LuziaDon’t do Facebook market. Travel nurses or medical students that goes for rotation.
Furnished finder.
TrentFacebook. You should be able to find pages for your area
JonTravel nurses! They have by far been the best tenants I’ve had. I used furnished finder.
You still have to screen the tenants and do all the normal checks manually but I had 0 vacancy when I did it
