Best way to remove sharpie marks from walks and floors? Need tried and true method.

I recently encountered a frustrating situation where Sharpie marker was accidentally used on my walls and floors.

I’m reaching out to this community to gather insights and recommendations on effective methods for removing Sharpie stains.

I’ve tried a few approaches, including using rubbing alcohol and magic erasers, but I’m still seeing some lingering marks. I want to avoid damaging the surfaces while effectively getting rid of the ink.

If you’ve dealt with a similar issue, what techniques or products worked best for you? Are there any home remedies or commercial cleaners that you found particularly effective?

I’d appreciate any tips or advice you can share, including potential precautions or steps to follow.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Draw over it with a dry erase marker. Like magic!

hand sanitizer – put on thick let it bead up then absorb with a paper towel. (dont push down or smear) if it is a porous area like concrete it will not work only works on like laminate floors or something that has a coating – if it is an acrylic paint on walls.

you will still be repainting after a couple coats of Kilz and primer

Hand sanitizer- We use this all time at work. It will come right off.

Recently saw a reel where a fella used sunblock. Maybe try a small place first but worth a try.

Clorox wipes remove permanent markers. And those white sponges work on everything

Denatured alcohol works wonders. The sooner you get to it the better.

Nail polish remover. Just soak it on a sponge you are done with, don’t let it sit for too long. Scrub and rinse sponge quickly so it doesn’t eat away the material.

I keep a 99% alcohol mix with water in a spray bottle. Cleans my sink, paddle boards, etc

Bleach or rubbing alcohol. I had to use bleach to remove it from a linoleum floor.
