Getting rid of cable, so what’s the cheapest yet worthwhile app I should get?

      Like Max, Sling, Paramount, etc.

      I already have an antenna.

I’m looking for recommendations on the most affordable streaming app that offers good value, considering I already have an antenna.

I’m interested in finding a service that complements my antenna setup by providing additional content and channels without breaking the bank.

Ideally, it should be cost-effective and offer a range of content that enhances my viewing options.

What are your suggestions for a budget-friendly streaming service that pairs well with an antenna setup?

Thanks in advance for your help!

If you’re a senior, you can get internet for $30 a month. During Black Friday they all had specials.

I got Hulu for $0.99 a month for a year and I’d already gotten Netflix with commercials which isn’t even noticeable to be honest for $6.99 I think plus tax.

I think I pay $7.61 or something like that.

        That’s enough.

I bought another couple specials but when they expired I just turned them off.

I got my fix out of Paramount for a while and it’s all good

Try the free apps like Pluto, Tubi, and FreeVee. Wait until Black Friday to get a paid subscription.

          They have great sales then.

Okay, I have about a half a dozen streaming apps and I share the logins with a very good friend and neighbor.

We’ve known each other 30 years.

She pays for half of them and I pay for half of them.

Another thing you should know about streaming apps is unless you commit to a full year at once you can pause your subscription.

If I’ve watched everything that I’m currently interested in on netflix, I can pause that subscription so I don’t pay for it while I binge watch another app and catch up on what I want to see there.

Right now I have Hulu paused, and also Disney paused.

When I reactivate them all of my favorites will still be there and where I left off in any series we’ll still be there.

You don’t have to keep paying for each service every month and I’m not sure a lot of people know that.

It’s easy to take a break and then also pauses your payments.

Depends on whether you’re a moviw or TV show person. Personally, I have found Youtube has a lot of great content with individuals that make consistent content that feels like a TV show.

I love watching cooking, repair, travel, history shows etc.

              & its fantastic for that.

              Plus, it’s free.

It depends on what channels are most important to you and when you want to watch them.

You’ll need to look at the channels that they all offer and decide.

YouTube TV and Hulu with Live TV are the closest to cable, but if you don’t have to watch certain shows as soon as they come out, then regular Hulu or another service may work for you.

If you don’t watch a lot, the smaller channel services like Paramount+, Sling, etc may work for you (but are limited).

Then get Firesticks, Roku or WiFi TV to support these apps to stream.

Free content apps that have movies and TV include Pluto, Freevee, Tubi, YouTube, etc.

It depends on what you’re wanting to watch. I like to be able to watch certain college teams and sports, so I got Slimg Orange plus a sports package for about $45 a month.

Depends on your must watch shows. If you don’t have any must sees, use the free apps or go with a bundle deal.

Depends on what you like to watch.. I have several apps and go back and forth.

I would say I like Paramount and Hulu the best.

If you really want to go frugal see if your library offers the Kanopy app!

I also have PBS Passport for a $6 monthly donation

I watch a huge amount of free Youtube and I have Amazon prime. When I want to watch a particular show on one of the paid subscription sites.

I make sure the whole season is out, buy a month subscription and binge watch.

You will still need wifi, I just dumped my cable, but the wifi costs 90 a month.

Still better than a cable bill.

Frndly would be least expensive, next would be Philo, which looks pretty good.

We have a smart TV Samsung and only pay for Peacock, has local news way more channels available than cable.

Our internet bill is $45/ month and $13 for Peacock.

                                  Nothing else.

                                  Love it
