What’s the FI hack to buying tickets to a NFL game? I’d like to take the family to see a game this season but just can’t get past the ticket price and fees!

I’m looking for tips and strategies to buy NFL tickets without breaking the bank.

As someone pursuing financial independence (FI), I’m interested in any hacks or methods that can help me enjoy NFL games while staying within my budget.

Whether it’s timing, specific platforms, discount offers, or other creative ways to save, I’d love to hear your advice and experiences.

How can I get the best deals on NFL tickets?

Plenty of seats in lower level for half those prices. I looked at Bears game, figuring division rival, on GameTime.

Come to the Lions/Packers game at Lambeau Field – there’s no better place to attend an NFL game!

Since the stupid schedule ended up giving the Milwaukee ticket holders all 3 conference games, a good number of the tickets will be sold to the opposing teams’ fans (including Detroit) because that’s what happens for all the games whose tickets are given to Milwaukee

(For some background, 3 of the Packers home games each year used to be played in Milwaukee, so those fans got those tickets.

When the Packers discontinued playing there, they let those Milwaukee ticketholders keep the tickets for 3 games in Green Bay per year.

There’s usually a ton of opposing team fans at those games because they buy tickets from the Milwaukee ticket holders)

I will say, as much as I hate seeing opposing fans in our stadium, the Detroit fans are usually pretty fun!

Spend on what brings you happiness and cut on everything else.

Volunteer to scan tickets at the stadium. We do this for the Kansas City chiefs.

Get to see any game we want for free.

              Even parking is free.

No hack. Spend money. FI is great but you only live once. Take time to spend money on the things you enjoy while keeping short and long term goals in mind.

I can’t believe how so many people waste money on expensive sporting events.

I wouldn’t spend that regardless of wealth level.

Get a job working in one of the concession stands. Quit once inside

I’m a season-ticket holder for the Cowboys. I bought the cheapest tickets they had at the time I go to one game a year and I sell the rest on Ticketmaster.

I either break even or make a small profit every year.

I know nothing about football conferences but look into away games. Cleveland browns had under $100 tickets a couple years back bc they were so terrible.

I usually buy from a season ticket holder that would not go because the weather was not good

Definitely watch from home. Maybe just go and tailgate in Detroit for a game and watch it somewhere fun.

I did Lions season tickets one year and the entire season cost less than this (they weren’t doing very well as you probably already know back then though).

Buying a season and selling the remaining games could work too.

Join ticket exchange groups on Facebook. No fees and no tax. Look for verified sellers and see they have the tickets on their account.

                                PayPal good and services.

I buy single tickets instead of 4.
I went to the superbowl and got lower level section tickets for 1/4 what those around me paid.

You can then either stand in the standing room sections or find two seats next to eachother and just sit there.

4 together is harder, but you always sacrifice something on a “hack”.

Also you can often use something like Rakuten for an extra 2-3% back plus 1.5% back on a CC, and your at 4.5% cash back

Buy worse tickets! I bought some off GameTime this year. Did StubHub in previous years.

Lower level for like $200 a ticket to games.

I always join local Facebook groups. Buy/sell groups as well as fan groups for the team; then search those groups for the game you want and buy directly from the sellers.

                                      Avoids fees.

If you pay using goods and services it still protects your purchase.

Have some conversations with the seller to make sure it feels right and if it doesn’t, block them and try again.

So our team, Seahawks, tickets are outrageous and parking is at least $50 if not higher.

One year we flew to Atlanta saw a Braces game,, then drove to Nashville to see the Seahawks play the Titans.

We had 50 yard line 100 level seats and all of that was cheaper than buying seats in Seattle.

Sometimes ya gotta go out of town to afford it.

I will say though, I haven’t found a stadium yet baseball or football that has the food selection that Seattle stadiums do and we’ve traveled to a lot of stadiums.
