I CAN’T PUT THE OVEN ON, UNLESS I PACK IT UP WITH FOOD TO BAKE.
WHY why have mashed potatoes with the roasted chicken, hell no, baked as well.
Have some veggies, yes roast them too.
That sweet potato, yes, I do love sweet bake potatoes.
Etc. Now, where in the fridge am going to store
SandyI like to cook, portion and freeze main dish items so if I’m going to cook I like to make it worthwhile and make several things for the freezer in a day.
I am not a big eater so If I make 3 dishes I usually end up with around 25-30 portioned main dish servings.
If I’m really hungry and I packaged in smaller portions I can always use 2.
I keep a list and rotate what dishes I make so I have good variety.
ValerieThat’s part of what I love about my air fryer, I don’t feel guilty about heating up a whole oven for one thing!
LucindaRoasted vegetables as so good! Especially carrots and cauliflower. Taste totally different than boiled.
MagsYou are not alone…!
A couple of years ago I got one of those countertop does everything mini ovens from Lidl.Thank Goodness I can’t get anywhere near as much stuff in there as my conventional oven…!
BrianYou can bake the potatoes, scoop out the insides and then mash them. Turns out great.
GemmaPut everything in plastic Ziploc bags you can lay them flat on top of each other
MoiraI do that too! But I still have mashed potatoes… I just scoop out the insides of my baked potatoes, save the skins, and then make baked potato skins!
RachelI grill a lot in the summer so I can keep the AC temp lower & control how much gas I use.
I used to try to fill the grill, but now I just decide how many burners I need before I start.
MaryI started doing that back in the 70’s when we were first married and there was an energy crisis.
I think it makes perfect sense! Pop in a batch of cookies while meat is cooking in the oven.
Multi-use makes sense if done properly.
LorettaI’m the same way!! I find other things to bake or make sure I find other recipes with the same baking temperature!
SaraI also went on a marathon cooking spree yesterday: ground beef steaks, a big pot of chili, and roasted chicken.
Cook once, eat all week!
KathleenI use my little toaster oven for smaller items. I store it in my oven.
