Always buy Toyota… even with 280k miles.
      We can’t wear them out

Toyotas are renowned for their reliability and durability, but how do they fare when the odometer hits 280,000 miles?

Whether it’s your personal experience or a general opinion, we want to know: what makes a high-mileage Toyota a smart buy?

Is it the brand’s legendary engineering, the low cost of maintenance, or something else entirely?

Share your thoughts and experiences with us—whether you’ve owned one, are considering buying one, or simply have strong feelings about the brand.

We’re curious to hear why you think a Toyota remains a solid investment, even after racking up significant mileage.

I love my Toyota Corolla Cross. The only thing I don’t like is the black leather seats.

My 2001 Sequoia is still going strong, but I don’t put a lot of milage on these days, 116k on her presently.

As bad of a reputation Kia has, I bought another. I gave mine to my husband (with 300,000 miles on it) and bought another, almost exactly like it, a year newer with 100,000 miles and I still love it.

I had a 2001 Ford Explorer Sportrac. It lasted until 2020, and had 560,000 miles before the engine went out.

Had to replace the transmission at 470,000 miles.

Best truck I’ve ever had, very few repairs.

253k on my ford fusion. But I actually take care of this one. I wish I would have taken better care of my Honda.

                      I’d still be driving it.

                          Hoping to get to 300,000!

Absolutely true. I am 53 and have owned Corollas and Tercels my entire life.

Car is so dependable and runs forever.

                              Taco oweners love them.

I just totaled my 2008 prius with 235,00] miles. So upset. Would have gone 300,000 with no problem, pretty sure.

My son, a mechanic, bought me a Venza, it was low mileage, 1 owner, and said, I have worked on several of these with over 500, 000 miles on them.

Toyota quit making them because nothing ever goes wrong with them, other than regular maintenance.

I’ve owned Toyota, Volvo, Volkswagen, Chrysler, and Chevy. Chevy is hands down more reliable in my experiences.

I think it depends on how well it’s maintained though, if you buy used

Have an 09 Camry that sometimes doesn’t start (EVENTUALLY it will though) but has 273,000 on it and it’s still running-once it starts.

Also have an 08 civic with 274,000 on it and it runs perfect!

Only Toyota’s and Honda’s from now on here!

My Dad drove until he was 93, Toyota Tundra, so it could be awhile!

I had a Corolla and loved it! Had it for 11 years and drove all over the country.

A herd of deer totaled my car in June and I wanted a rav4 but couldn’t afford it so I got a Kia shortage.

But when I can afford it I’ll get my rav4.

I wanted a more Montana friendly vehicle but couldn’t justify trading in my Corolla.
